We are proud and excited to announce that the AIPAC Board of Directors has chosen Vice CEO Elliot Brandt as AIPAC’s next CEO, to succeed Howard Kohr when Howard retires at the end of 2024. In Elliot, the Board has chosen someone who thoroughly understands the strategic challenges and opportunities facing AIPAC, possesses the skills and insight necessary to successfully lead us forward, and demonstrates deep passion for, and commitment to, our work to strengthen and expand the U.S.-Israel relationship.
Elliot has been an AIPAC employee for nearly 30 years and his selection is a testament to AIPAC’s commitment to retaining and cultivating great staff—a core AIPAC value. In each phase of his AIPAC career—starting in San Francisco, moving to Los Angeles and then to our Washington, D.C. headquarters—Elliot has repeatedly built and led successful teams that have consistently met the strategic goals set by the Board. Under Elliot’s leadership as Managing Director for National Affairs, and more recently as Vice CEO, overall organizational and political fundraising have doubled, and Elliot has played an integral role in driving our new political strategy. He has been at the center of AIPAC’s policy discussion on a daily basis, working directly with his colleagues and policymakers to ensure our legislative objectives are advanced.
Elliot is a gifted and effective communicator. Over the past nine years, he has traveled to nearly every community in the country, meeting with countless AIPAC members and effectively expanding the circle of donors engaging in our work to strengthen bipartisan support for Israel in Congress. From major speeches to individual conversations, Elliot is unmatched in how he articulates our mission and motivates our membership.
Elliot is a true leader who is thoughtful, kind, and humble. He is also a reflection of great mentors who have guided him throughout his career, including Naomi Lauter, Larry Weinberg, Richard Fishman, and Howard Kohr.
