Iran Says It Will Not Stop Uranium Enrichment

Mottaki said Iran's enrichment policy "remains unchanged."
Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki said on Sunday that the Islamic Republic will not stop enriching uranium – a key step toward developing nuclear weapons – even if it is guaranteed supplies of nuclear fuel from abroad, Reuters reported. Iran's ambassador to the U.N. nuclear watchdog was quoted as saying on Thursday that Tehran would consider renouncing enrichment if it was assured of fuel supplies from abroad. However, Mottaki, asked whether Tehran would shelve enrichment with such a guarantee, said: "No ... Iran's uranium enrichment policy remains unchanged."
