Roles and Responsibilities

  • Assists in the implementation of human resource programs and initiatives
  • Confers with DC Directors and Regional Directors to identify personnel needs, job specifications, job duties, qualifications and skills.
  • Posts job openings in various media; utilizes Internet on-line recruiting sources to identify and recruit candidates
  • Contacts qualified candidates and appropriate parties to schedule interview dates and times
  • Performs reference and background checks on applicants
  • Works with employment agencies to identify candidates for temporary employment
  • Maintains employment applications for future reference
  • Collects and analyzes HR data and makes recommendations to HR Director
  • Assists in the preparation of employee communications
  • Creates “new hire” paperwork packets
  • Enrolls new hires in all benefit programs – on-line or mail-in forms
  • Coordinates and facilitates annual performance review program, updates job descriptions as necessary and ensures salary information is forwarded to CFO
  • Investigates accidents and prepares reports for insurance carrier
  • Prepares employee termination notices and related documentation
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications

  • Five or more years experience as a Human Resources Generalist, with a concentration in recruitment and benefits
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration or related field
  • Knowledge of labor laws, legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite applications, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to exercise judgment and discretion in maintaining confidential and sensitive  information
  • Highly organized, detail oriented and able to prioritize tasks
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills
  • SHRM or CEBS certification a plus
